Jennifer Deckert, a native of St. Louis, trained with Alexandra Zaharias at the Alexandra School of Ballet for fourteen years.
She then received a BFA in ballet performance from the University of Utah, performing with Character Dance Ensemble, Eastern
Arts, and Utah Ballet. She continued to perform as a company member with Utah Ballet as she furthered her education, receiving
an MFA in Ballet teaching, choreography, and research with an emphasis in kinesiology and dance injuries. Ms. Deckert is a
member of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science, and has performed research with alignment assessment
and improvement in pre-professional ballet dancers. During her performing career she has performed such leads as Myrtha in
Giselle, Prelude in Les Sylphides, and Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and has worked with such choreographers as Bruce
Caldwell, John Mead, Marek Cholewa, and Attila Ficzere.
