free performances are offered to the public at the Missouri Botanical
Garden in conjunction with KFUO
Classic 99 ’s Rhapsody
in Bloom. Enjoy the splendor of the surroundings in
the historic gardens of Henry Shaw, which serve as a perfect backdrop
for the beautiful dancers of Alexandra Ballet, performing new works
from their 2009 - 2010 repertoire, in front of the Spink Pavilion.

of The Nutcracker in collaboration with Chesterfield Arts at the
Purser Center on the campus of Logan College. Perfect for children
of all ages, this one hour ballet, narrated by Ann Marie Ruhlin,

entire company presents this annual program at the beautiful Purser
Center at Logan College. The performance will feature the electrifying
Unplugged, choreographed by Paula Weber to music by Henji Bunch
and the Ahn Trio, Bournonville’s lighthearted ballet Kermesse
in Bruges, staged by Kennet Oberly, and Don Quixote Suite, staged
by Sergey Kozadeyev after the masterful choreography of Marius Petipa.
Alexandra Ballet’s own Norma Gabriel will premiere a new work
created especially for our Junior Company set to the frolicking
music of Respighi and Rossini. Tickets can be purchased at Alexandra
Ballet and at the door the date of the performance.

10th Annual St. Louis Dance Festival

The Festival is presented by
Dances of India and provides an opportunity to catch a glimpse
of the thriving and diverse dance presence in metropolitan St. Louis–
all in one weekend. Various dance companies will share the stage
at Edison Theatre, each presenting a particular piece that is illustrative
of that group’s artistic approach to dance – and a few
of the groups have created new works just for this occasion.
